Areas of Practice

Immigration law and Citizenship law

We offer services covering every area of immigration law and citizenship law, including: Appeals and Applications for judicial review in the Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court; Appeals and Applications in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal; and Applications to the Department of Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs.

We have particular expertise in dealing with decisions to refuse or cancel visas under s 501 of the Migration Act and applications to revoke the mandatory cancellation of visas under s 501CA of the Migration Act. We use our knowledge of the criminal justice system to best put forward our client’s case and give them the best chance of a successful outcome.

We have specific pages providing more information on specific immigration law and citizenship law matters: Partner Visa Australia, Visa Cancellations, Visa Refusals, Australian Citizenship Refusals, AAT Applications, Federal Court Appeals, Judicial Review.

We can help with any criminal law or traffic law matter. Whether you need to defend your charges, apply for a spent conviction, apply for an extraordinary driver’s licence or you just need someone to stand up for you in Court, we will be there to give you the best chance of a successful outcome.

We can represent you in the Magistrates Court, District Court, Children’s Court or the Supreme Court. For serious or complex cases, we can instruct a barrister on your behalf. We have built connections with some of the best barristers at the WA bar, and will make sure you receive the highest quality representation possible.

Administrative law

We can represent you in any matter before the State Administrative Tribunal, Administrative Appeals Tribunal or Liquor Commission. Common matters in these Tribunals are: firearm licence disputes, liquor licencing, barring notices, dangerous dog declarations, guardianship and administration, and professional regulation. No matter your application, we can help.

Tax law

Want to object to a taxation decision, review an objection decision or appeal an objection decision? Whichever step of the process you are at, we can help. We have a close working relationship with the best tax barrister in Perth, and can handle any dispute no matter how big or small.

Restraining orders

If you need a violence restraining order, misconduct restraining order or family violence restraining order, we can help.

Appeals against conviction and appeals against sentence

If you think you may have been wrongfully convicted or given a harsh sentence, please get in contact as soon as possible. We can help. Given the tight timeframes to appeal and the vulnerable position you may be in, we can be flexible on fees and in some instances may act pro bono.

Discrimination law

Have you been subject to sexual harassment, racial abuse, age discrimination or disability discrimination? A complaint must first be made to the Human Rights Commission before Court proceedings can be started. No matter what stage of the process you are at, we can help.
