On 24 March 2022, the Court made orders allowing my client’s appeal against the decision of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal to refuse to grant him and his family student visas.

Today, we received confirmation from the Department that, subject to a medical clearance and police checks, an African man from Sierra Leone would be granted a partner visa sponsored by his Australian citizen partner.

Mr O was involved in a fraudulent scheme perpetrated on a property developer. His associates from Nigeria managed to gain access to an email address used by a landscaping company which they used to forward invoices to the property developer for work purportedly done by that landscaping company.

An Indian businessman, sponsored by his Australian citizen wife, applied for a partner visa.  The couple had just shared the personal loss of their first child and wanted to continue their life together in Australia permanently and create a family.

On 2 December 2020, we had a very satisfying win for our client Mr R before the Full Court of the Federal Court of Australia in the matter of MQGT v Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs [2020] FCAFC 215.

Ms S was appealing (seeking judicial review of) a decision of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal to affirm the decision of the Minister to refuse to grant her a permanent Partner (Subclass 100) visa.

Question: How do you lose your Partner visa at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) when you are in a genuine relationship and there is no reason why you should not be granted such a visa?

On 23 October 2020, we successfully sought review of a decision to refuse our client, Mr Ali (not his real name), citizenship.

On 14 October 2020, we had a win for our client, Ms P, in an appeal to the Federal Court of Australia: P v Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs [2020] FCA 1480.

On 9 September 2020, we had a win for our client, Mr G, in the Federal Court of Australia in the matter of G v Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs [2020] FCA 1298.

On 5 August 2020, we had a win for our clients, the Kumar family (not their real names) in the matter of BTT16 & ORS v MINISTER FOR IMMIGRATION & ANOR [2020] FCCA 2134.

On 22 July 2020, we had a win for our client, Mr Mohamed (not his real name), in the matter of CVP18 v Minister for Immigration & Anor [2020] FCCA 1845.
